Diorama - Born of Fire Traditional dioramas were made by the Victorians and through them they sought to imitate nature, offering a glimpse into the vastness and spectacular nature of the world. I have been lucky enough to have visited some beautiful places and I always take lots photos of them. Since working in glass I have spent a lot of time thinking about how to encapsulate what I see. But slowly I realised that what I remember most about somewhere is the colour. So I decided to create a modern type of diorama, using colour to describe the nature of a place. This piece represents the continually evolving Galapagos Islands and the molten lava that created them. Photo by Ester Segarra
